Hall of Honor to mark 60th anniversary of the Korean Armistice

NEW WINDSOR — The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor will commemorate the 60th anniversary of end of the fighting in Korea at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 27.

The program will present written recollections and thoughts of Korean War Purple Heart recipients and will be followed by a screening of the documentary film “Chosin.” This film, produced by two Marine veterans, is a tribute to the survivors of the Chosin Campaign of 1950 and to all Korean veterans. It recalls the sacrifices and the triumphs of this war and is a powerful experience for all who have seen it.

The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor is part of the Palisades Interstate Park Commission and is co-located with the New Windsor Cantonment State Historic Sites at 374 Temple Hill Road (Route 300) in the town of New Windsor. Parking, gift shop and picnic grounds are located on site.

Gallery exhibits are open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
