GREENWOOD LAKE — If an army travels on its stomach, then members of the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division were well-fueled, thanks to the largesse of the Greenwood Lake American Legion Arthur Finnegan’s Post 1443.

The 10th Mountain Division is stationed upstate at Camp Drum.

On Aug. 10, Post 1443 held a barbecue for the members of the division who were in the area as part of training exercises with cadets from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

More than 200 soldiers attended, enjoying the food as well as playing softball, pool, darts, Frisbee and horse shoes.

Civilians also attended for a small fee, with all proceeds going to the “Wounded Warrior” program.
