GOSHEN — Three forums titled "The Future of the Orange County Government Center" will be held in February and March by Taxpayers of Orange County, the Democratic Alliance, and Change Orange.

These two groups are opposed to building a new center, a proposal that county Executive Edward Diana is pushing hard.

"Why spend taxpayers hard-earned dollars for new building when for far less we can renovate the one we already have?" their flyer asks.

Speakers will include a county legislator, architects, a budget analyst, and a historian and preservationist. A question-and-answer period will follow the presentations. Light refreshments will be provided.

The schedule is: Goshen: Sunday, Feb. 26, 2-4 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at the Saint James Church, One Saint James Street

Newburgh: Sunday, March 4, 2-4 p.m. Newburgh CAC, 48 Grand Street

Port Jervis: Sunday, March 25, 2-4 p.m., Recreation Center, 134 Pine Street
