Greenwood Lake remembers and honors

During Greenwood Lake's outdoor Memorial Day service, James Lynch placed a wreath at his son's statue. His son, Marine Lance Cpl. Scott A. Lynch, was killed in action in 2010 while deployed in Afghanistan.

GREENWOOD LAKE — In anticipation of Memorial Day services, the Greenwood Lake American Legion and members of Boy Scouts Troop 121 placed flags on the graves of veterans in Greenwood Lake Cemetery.
Memorial Day services were conducted outside of the Arthur Finnegan Post No. 1443, where James Lynch placed a wreath at his son's statue. His son, Marine Lance Cpl. Scott A. Lynch, was killed in action in 2010 while deployed in Afghanistan.
Later, services were concluded inside the Post, with thoughts and prayers from Post 1443 Commander Gerry Brewer, Greenwood Lake Mayor Jesse Dwyer and the Rev. Robert Sweeney.
