Great American Weekend is here

The Goshen Chamber of Commerce is inviting one and all to join their biggest event of the year — a celebration of tradition, independence, and family.
The 38th annual Great American Weekend is on Saturday, July 6, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, July 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Village Square (Church Park), located at the intersection of Main and South Church Streets in Goshen.
More than 150 vendors will each bring a unique element to the market: fine arts and crafts, retail goods, and an awesome variety of food. Community groups will also be out in force.
This family-friendly weekend offers lots of attractions, music, and food.
The craft vendors are traveling in from all over the region, while many of the local retail vendors, such as the popular Bliss Boutique, have storefronts right in the village. Local village shops will also be open.
The Goshen Historic Track will have races all weekend: for race times visit goshenhistorictrack.com.
The Rotary Club of Goshen will be hosting its 5/10K road race on July 6, at 8 a.m.: visit goshennyrotary.org.
The First Presbyterian Church will offer children's rides the entire weekend. Stop by Trailside Treats for ice cream and other snacks, grab a quick drink at the New Street Tavern, and do some more shopping at Linda's Office Supplies.
Bring the family
Take a picture with Zaro's Celebrations at the Wall of Fame. Grab a schedule of events at their information booth for children's shows and activities. Get one of the Goshen Chamber of Commerce’s organic cotton market bags for shopping, and pick up a Great American Weekend T-shirt while you're at it.
“We want to limit the use of plastic bags and our market bags are so stylish and cool, plus our T-shirts are so soft you'll want to wear it once you purchase it,” said Executive Director Barbara Martinez.
Great American Weekend is a way to introduce Goshen to visitors near and far. They're encouraged to stroll the walkable community, explore the Goshen Public Library and Historical Society (goshenpubliclibrary.org), and check out the awesome Harness Racing Museum visit (harnessmuseum.com). Stop in at Orange County Tourism, 99 Main St., for information on exploring beyond Goshen (orangetourism.org).
"So bring the family and enjoy everything the 38th annual Great American Weekend has to offer," said Martinez. "It will be an awesome experience."
