Grappa Ristorante to sponsor seventh annual Backpack Snack Attack fund raiser on Nov. 19

WARWICK — The Backpack Snack Attack program will hold another "Fall Fling" dinner/fund raiser on Monday, Nov. 19.
The seventh annual event, supported by local businesses, organizations and individuals, will be hosted and sponsored by Grappa Ristorante at 22 Railroad Ave. in the Village of Warwick.
Since January 2009, elementary school children in this area have been taking advantage of Backpack Snack Attack, a charitable program designed to insure that needy children always have enough to eat.
The program, in which volunteers stuff backpacks with food for almost 300 needy children to enable them to eat at home on weekends, is available to public elementary schools in Warwick, Florida, Pine Island and Greenwood Lake.
There will be one seating at 6 p.m. for the dinner featuring salad, entrée, soft drinks, dessert and coffee. A cash bar will be available.
The cost per person is $45 payable in advance and all proceeds benefit Backpack Snack Attack.
Raffles, tooIn addition, Backpack Snack Attack is currently selling raffle tickets for the annual fall raffle benefiting the program.
Top prizes include: Thanksgiving Holiday Basket ($150 value) and gift certificates to Grappa Ristorante, Warwick Nails, La Piazza Wine Bar, Nicole's House of Beauty, Eddie's Roadhouse, Iron Forge Inn and the Warwick Merchant's Guild along with a Wine Basket by Wine Time and more.
The raffle tickets are $10 each or three for $25.
The drawing will take place at the fund-raising dinner. Winners need not be present.
Tickets are now being sold by Backpack Snack Attack volunteers and at Grappa Ristorante.
