Spectators will not be allowed at this year’s County Fair Races and Landmark Stakes held on Sunday, Sept. 6, at Goshen Historic Track, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in accordance with current health regulations.

“We are planning to have the races simulcast,” Historic Track officials said in the press release announcing their decision. “The YouTube link will be found on our website (goshenhistorictrack.com), the New York Sire Stakes website and our Facebook page.

“We would like to thank our members for their continued support of the track,” the officials added, “and because of their generosity we are able to keep harness racing alive and well for future generations.”

In addition, COVID-19 restrictions also have prompted the cancellation of Historic Track’s sixth Annual Kentucky Derby Party on Saturday, Sept. 5.

The Kentucky Derby was cancelled in May and postponed to Sept. 5. At this time, it appears that the rescheduled 146th race will take place at Churchill Downs as planned, but here in New York State there is still some uncertainty about the feasibility of hosting large public events.

If you have already purchased tickets for our Kentucky Derby Party, please contact the office for a refund.

The 2021 Kentucky Derby is scheduled for Saturday, May 1.
