The Foundation for a Drug Free World Northeast Chapter (www.drugfreeworld.org) is teaming up with Dolson Avenue Medical in a massive effort to help local youth make pro-survival decisions about the use of drugs.

In 1987, the United Nations General Assembly established June 26 as an International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking to serve as a reminder of the goals agreed to by Member States of creating an international society free of drug abuse.

In honor of this event, The Foundation for a Drug Free World and Dolson Avenue Medical are sponsoring a local awareness campaign during the week of June 23 to June 29 where staff will be distributing more than 2,000 Truth About Drugs booklets. They have organized billboards to go up, newspaper ads, television PSAs (Public Service Announcements) and have been to local events like the Y2Kids where they provided free educational training kits to middle school teachers and after-school directors.

For more information about the campaign and where to get the free booklets, call Dolson Avenue Medical at 845-342-0000.
