WARWICK — This past February was National Children's Dental Health Month sponsored by the American Dental Association (ADA) to bring together dedicated dental professionals, healthcare providers, and educators to promote the benefits of good oral health to children, their caregivers, teachers and others.
This year's National Children's Dental Health Month campaign slogan was "Brush your teeth with fluoride toothpaste and clean between your teeth for a healthy smile".
On Saturday, February 24, Galloway Dental, 66 Galloway Road (Route 17A) in the Village of Warwick, hosted Kids Dental Health Day.
During the program, parents will learned about when children should have their first dental visit, ways to prevent early childhood caries, when to expect changes from primary to permanent teeth, proper brushing and flossing techniques, thumbsucking, dental sealants, choosing the right mouth protector for active children and adolescents, and teaching their children to say no to tobacco. Parents also learned about the importance of regular dental examinations.
"Three or four years old is not too early to begin having a dental exam every six months," said Greg Klein, DDS, a dentist at Galloway Dental along with Hugh Calden, DDS, and
Vincent Margherita, DDS, whose practice is in Orthodontics. "Regular dental visits are important for children as well as adults."
For over 30 years, Galloway Dental has been providing comprehensive dental services to patients of all ages in Warwick and the surrounding areas.
"We make every patient feel welcomed and relaxed during their appointment,"said Office Manager Lynn Doran.
