WARWICK — The Warwick firm of Gallagher Solar Thermal will join the nonprofit American Solar Energy Society (ASES) and hundreds of solar-installers and grassroots organizations throughout America on Saturday, Oct. 6, to showcase a solar hot water system.
The Warwick open house tour will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Victorian home of Jerry and Lucy Fischetti on the corner of Galloway Road and Oakland Avenue. The Fischettis are owners of two solar hot water systems and big fans of energy savings.
Students are welcome and the tour is free.
According to Gallagher, the event will feature the solar technologies used to save on monthly energy bills, reduce harmful carbon emissions and help home owners enjoy tax credits and cash incentives as they improve their property values.
“Learning about clean, job-creating energy options that provide tax breaks, lower energy bills and provide cleaner communities for all of us is something Warwick and Orange County residents can do to address America’s dangerous addiction to fossil fuels,” said Gallagher. “The ASES National Solar Tour shows families and businesses real-life examples of how their neighbors are harnessing free energy from the sun to heat water and slash monthly utility bills.”
Gallagher explained that these tours afford participants the direct perspectives of homeowners and installers about the costs, processes, economic and environmental benefits of going solar. The tours also give Orange County residents a glimpse at how a solar hot water systems looks in a home.
Gallagher Solar has installed more than 100 solar hot water and pool heating systems since 2005.
