FLORIDA — Warwick resident and community volunteer Ed Gyuro passed away Feb. 26 at the age of 53, leaving behind a wife and their three children.

Gyuro and his wife, Sherry, are known for their devotion to the Warwick community.

Ed Gyuro was a former assistant coach for the Warwick Hockey League. His wife, a pre-school teacher at Creative Kids, was also a dance instructor at both the Dancer’s Studio and recently at Kerry Dance.

She has also been very supportive of the arts and has regularly volunteered at many of the school district’s drama club events and in the classrooms of Park Avenue Elementary School.

Community effort
Friends of the Gyuro family are planning a fund raiser on Sunday afternoon, April 21, from 3 to 6 p.m. to raise scholarship funds for Ed and Sherry Gyuro’s three young children: Sky Lynn, Garrett and Sophie.

The event, which will feature a bake sale, “Tricky Tray Baskets,” a silent auction of high-end products, a 50/50 raffle, and fun-filled family games, will take place at Primo Sports, 1741 Route 17A, in Florida, which has donated its facilities.

A suggested donation of $35 per family will be collected at the door.

Baskets and donations for the event are already being collected. And finally, a clothing drive, organized by Clothing Drive Fundraiser/Synergy In-Kind Donation Management, Inc. will be underway.
