WARWICK — The heart of downtown Warwick is home to Frank's Pizzeria, 64 Main St., where the Rinaldi family has been making homemade - and hometown - pizza for 40 years.
They first opened their doors in 1976, during the country's celebration of its Bicentennial, and have been serving pizza seven days a week ever since.
On Monday, June 27, Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton, Mayor Michael Newhard and members of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce joined owners Frank and Matt Rinaldi, their families, friends and staff for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the family pizzeria.

Longevity

They were also there to congratulate Matt Rinaldi, current owner/operator, and his brother Frank, on the success and longevity of one of Warwick's favorite spots for pizza and other Italian specialties.
The celebration continues all month beginning with a pizza-eating competition during the Annual Sidewalk Sale at noon this Saturday, July 9. All are welcome to take a chance at the challenge.
And past pizza eating champions are invited to return for the chance to defend their title.
Those who prefer to just linger over their pizza can indulge all weekend with $1 slices.
In addition to being a Warwick institution, the restaurant is a family tradition.

'Taste the love'

The Rinaldi family has been in the pizza business for three generations.
Frank Rinaldi's son, Frankie Junior, has been a pizza man at the restaurant since middle school. And all of the Rinaldi children have worked at Frank's Pizza and often pitch in during large catering affairs.
Community support is deeply rooted in the history of the business, from sponsoring local children's and adult sports teams to offering aid when it's needed. Frank's is known to welcome residents to recharge their electronics during power outages as well as their appetites.
The public is invited to stop in this month for a congratulatory $1 slice at Frank's.
"We've heard it many times over the years," said Matt Rinaldi. "You'll love the taste because you'll taste the love."
Frank's Pizzeria is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
