Florida Public Library hosts health insurance webinar

— America’s public libraries have been recruited to distribute information about the new federal Affordable Card Act. On Thursday, Aug. 22, from 1 to 2 p.m., the Florida Public Library will show a webinar for small business owners developed by the Department of Health and Human Services and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The presentation on the library’s big screen will address how to navigate the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP), a segment of the Affordable Care Act that will be available online Oct. 1.

The webinar will be of interest to small business owners who want to learn about this new streamlined way to offer health insurance to their employees in 2014.

Light refreshments will be served.
