Florida Public Library budget passed and trustees elected

    FLORIDA — The Florida Public Library held its annual budget vote and trustee election on Thursday, April 5.
    The library’s budget passed with 123 yes votes and 31 no votes.
    The total proposed library budget is $515,840.
    The tax levy, or the amount voted on by taxpayers, is $459,140. This figure represents an increase of $15,200 over last year.
    The estimated 2018-19 tax rates per $1,000 of assessed property value are $5.62 for the Town of Warwick, an increase of .16, and $1.30 for the Town of Goshen, an increase of .04.
    Incumbent trustee Ronald Kamrowski, newcomer Laura Fernandez and write-in candidate Stella Kosior were each elected to a three-year term on the library’s Board of Trustees.
