First in second annual series of Warwick Food Truck Festivals attracts 3,000 people

WARWICK — It may have looked like rain was in store for the first of the second annual series of Warwick Food Truck Festivals.
But by 4 p.m. on Thursday evening, June 7, the weather was near perfect and an estimated 3,000 people came out to enjoy the popular event.
The festival, featuring a variety of food trucks, bands, wineries, breweries and cideries, was held from 4 to 9 p.m. at the St. Stephen's soccer field on Sanfordville Road.
All proceeds, which are tallied at a much later date, benefit St. Stephen-St. Edward School.
"Our first Warwick Food Truck Festival of the season was so much fun," said School Principal Bethany Negersmith. "Thank you to everyone who made the evening great including our sponsors, vendors, musicians, volunteers and all of the folks who attended."
All the festivals take place on the first Thursdays of each month.
The next event will be held on July 5, followed by the final food truck festival on Aug. 2.
General admission is $5 and children under 12 are admitted free of charge.
"We're so pleased with the turnout at our first festival date of this summer," said event chair Tracy Gregoire. "Everyone enjoyed the offerings of dozens of vendors providing delicious food and drink, children's activities, shopping and more. It's a great summer evening out in Warwick and we're looking forward to seeing everyone again on July 5."
