WARWICK — On Feb. 12, local officials and representatives from the Warwick business community joined owner/chef Adam Powers and his family, for an official grand opening of Fetch Bar and Grill.

The restaurant, located at 48 Main St. in the Village of Warwick, features classic American home cooking with specialties like Philadelphia Cheese Steak, individually baked macaroni and cheese, Mom’s meatloaf with mashed potatoes and hot open-faced turkey sandwiches.

But Fetch also has a mission. To say that the Powers family is fond of dogs would be an understatement.

Diners are invited to browse what Powers’ calls, The Warwick Valley Humane Society canine rescue Adopt-a-Dog wall.” All the other walls are decorated with hundreds of photos of his customer’s best friends, their dogs.

This year, to prove its commitment, Fetch Bar and Grill, played host to a “dog wedding” fund raiser for the Humane Society and also donated $2,000. That donation came from the proceeds of the “Doghouse” table, dedicated to Powers’ favorite charity, the Humane Society.

In 1997, Powers, who was already an experienced chef, graduated first in his class from New York Restaurant School. He then went on to cook at the well-known Manhattan landmark, The Rainbow Room, atop Rockefeller Center.

Powers also owns another Fetch Bar and Grill in Manhattan’s Upper East Side with a similar decor, a doggie wall of fame and a mission to help New York City’s stray dog population through adoption.

Warwick’s Fetch Bar and Grill is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekday for lunch and brunch on weekends. Dinner is served from 5 to 10 p.m. and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
