Fashion show raises $8,000 for Warwick in Bloom

WARWICK — On Sunday, Sept. 23, approximately 130 guests attended a fall fashion show and luncheon, hosted by Warwick in Bloom, at the Chateau Hathorn in Warwick.
Warwick in Bloom is Warwick’s non-profit beautification association whose goal is to beautify the community for its residents and their visitors. All funds are raised through donations from the community residents and local businesses.
One of the landmarks in Warwick, the home of the Chateau Hathorn Restaurant is an authentically furnished 18th century private mansion built in 1832 The Chateau boasts cathedral ceilings, wood carved interiors, a Victorian lounge and fine food and wine.

Sponsors of the Fall Fashion Show, the first event of its kind for Warwick in Bloom, included Horizon Family Medical Group: Women’s Health, Bon Secours Charity Health System and Crystal Farm Book Club.
Local shops including Blue, Hip and Chic, Style Counsel, Foellers, Too Sweet and Jacquelines provided the fashions.
During the luncheon, the Warwick Valley High School Chamber Strings entertained guests with a musical interlude.
In addition to a parade of volunteer models, the Warwick in Bloom fall fashion show also featured a silent auction, which also showcased the talents of local designers who were assigned a different month of the year as a theme for each table display. There was also an opportunity to participate in a raffle for a handmade quilt donated by Marge King Porter, and a 50/50 raffle.

Numerous local businesses and individuals donated their products, services and time to help make Warwick in Bloom’s first fall fashion show a success.
Event co-chairs Deb Krol and Sue Wilk reported that proceeds from the event, at slightly more than $8,000, will be used to benefit the beautification of Warwick.
