Evan Teatum honored for his service

The Hudson Valley Leisure Services Association held its 2014 Voluntary Service Awards on May 28 at the Grahm Ski Lodge at Thomas Bull Memorial Park. Goshen's Evan Teatum was one of the honorees along with Holly Climes of Campbell Hall.

Teatum and Climes were honored for community concerts they produced for the past 15 years with such artists as Levon Helm and Rick Danko of The Band, former Congressman John Hall of the band Orleans, Mitch Rider and the Detroit Wheels, Commander Cody, Graham Parker, England Dan and John Ford Coley, local blues great the late Bill Perry, Blues legend Hubert Sumlin, Larry Campbell (Bob Dylan), Leon Redbone, Maria Malduer and many others while incorporating talent from the local communities into the shows.

The Hudson Valley Leisure Services Association is a networking group of parks, recreation, therapeutic, and leisure service professionals and supporters from Orange, Ulster, Rockland, Dutchess, and Putnam Counties that meets once a month. It is a great organization with an executive board that is knowledgeable skilled and experienced who share ideas with others in the field.
