Ecumenical Lenten luncheons scheduled

WARWICK — The Warwick Valley Ecumenical Council once again will host ITS series of annual Lenten Devotional Luncheons, every Wednesday afternoon from Feb. 20 through March 20.

The events will take place in the fellowship hall of the Warwick United Methodist Church, 135 Forester Ave., and run from noon until 1 P.M. Tickets are $8 per person at the door.

Each week attendees will sing together, share a hot lunch and hear a message. Local clergy presenting the weekly meditation on this year’s theme: “People at the Passion:

Feb. 20: Rev. Michael Otte, Warwick Reformed Church, “The Centurion.”

Feb. 27: Rev. Michael McLoughlin, Pastor, St. Stephen’s Church, Peter.

March 6: Rev. James Erwin, Christ Church, Warwick,Judas.

March 13: Rev. Julia Yeon Hee Yim, Warwick United Methodist Church, Pontius Pilate.

March 20: Rev. Ken Susskraut, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Mary.

This year’s menu will feature turkey on Feb. 20; ham on Feb. 27; roast pork on March 6; chicken on March 13; and meat loaf on March 20.

The Warwick Valley Ecumenical Council includes the Bellvale Community, Christ Episcopal Church, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Stephen, the Martyr Church, Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church, Union African Methodist Episcopal Church, Vision Community Church, Warwick Assembly of God, Warwick Reformed Church, Warwick United Methodist Church and Warwick Valley Church of the Nazarene.
