Drowned Lands Historical Society to host forum on Feb. 24 about farm life during the American Revolution

PINE ISLAND — The Drowned Lands Historical Society will host a community forum on farm life during the American Revolution in the Town of Warwick.
A panel will discuss a 1779 lease of Black Walnut Island in the drowned lands. Members of the panel will include:
• Dr. Richard Hull, Town of Warwick historian;
• William Grohoski, Black Dirt historian; and
• James Baird, former dairy farmer and author.
The forum will be held Sunday, Feb. 24, from 2 to 5 p.m. in the community room of the Pine Island Firehouse on County Route 1 in Pine Island.
The public is invited to attend. Reservations are not required.
