— The GWL Skatepark Corp. will host its second annual DoItForDale! Summer Concert this Sunday, Aug. 5, to raise funds and awareness to build a professional concrete flowpark-style skate park in the Village of Greenwood Lake.
The concert will be held at the Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park, 7 Windermere Ave., with Greenwood Lake as the backdrop. Music begins at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 11 p.m.
The concert will feature a range of bands and music types. It is organized by Colleen O’Brien, a former classmate of Dale Hirrel, the Greenwood Lake teenager who died as a result of a car accident in April 2016.
The GWL Skatepark will be dedicated to Hirrel’s memory.
The 2017 concert raised more than $7,000, bringing the current total raised to more than $17,000. The goal is to raise $300,000 to build the park, which will provide a safe and controlled environment for skateboarding, inline skating, scootering and BMX riding.
