‘Do you love what you do?’

WARWICK — Artist and entrepreneur Amy Lewis Sweetman kicks off the 2018-2019 speaker series “Do you love what you do? The AGRISCULPTURE Community Lecture Series” at Pennings Farm on Wednesday, Feb. 14.
Lewis Sweetman is the founder of this community lecture series, showcasing speakers with active passion in the community. “Do you love what you do?” began as a single annual lecture Lewis Sweetman gave at Cornell University’s Architecture Summer Program in Ithaca about her practice, AGRISCULPTURE.
She has given that presentation for the past six years.
In 2017, her talk evolved into a lecture series that included speakers from throughout the community given in Sugar Loaf and Chester before landing at Pennings Farm, which is just around the corner from Lewis Sweetman’s AGRISCULPTURE Studios on Sweetman Farm.
Past speakers included Village of Warwick Mayor Michael Newhard and Allegra Stein, a thought and action coach.
“I enjoy creating space where people can share the passions they’re actively engaged in, exercise their freedom of speech and tell their stories to a group of friends and neighbors, face to face,” said Lewis Sweetman. “’Do you love what you do?’ provides an architecture that engages both speakers and guests, nurturing passion, expansion and community.”
The upcoming 2018-2019 series includes Grammy Award-winning musician Jimmy Sturr, Rosemary Cooper, executive director of the Albert Wisner Public Library, Dr. Richard Hull, the Warwick town historian, as well as other local speakers with a unique story to tell.
Lewis Sweetman’s lecture runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pennings. The evening begins with 30 minutes of mingling, one hour of the speaker’s presentation and 30 minutes of questions and answers. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
