Senior picnic set for Aug. 28 WARWICK The towns annual senior picnic will be held Tuesday, Aug. 28, at Union Corners Park. The picnic is free to any senior citizen residing in the Town of Warwick.
This event, sponsored by the Town and the Warwick Valley Rotary as well as by almost every volunteer organization and many businesses within the town, provides a full day of food, entertainment and prizes as a thank you to senior citizens.
Although free, tickets are required and may be obtained through one of six senior groups throughout Warwick.
Seniors who are not members of any of these clubs may obtain tickets by calling Supervisor Michael Sweetons office at 986-1120 ext. 241.
Village announces new brush pile schedule
WARWICK The Village of Warwick has a new brush pile schedule, effective Saturday, Aug. 4, according to Village Clerk Jo-Ann Rome:
Summer During June, July and August:
First and third weekends, from noon to 4 p.m.
Fall During September, October and November:
Every Saturday and Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m.
Spring During April and May: Every Saturday and Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m.
The program is limited to Warwick Village residents; no commercial operators will be permitted.
A drivers license must be shown to monitor at drop-off area. If a drivers license does not have a street address, a permit may be picked up at Village Hall, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Brush cannot exceed 6 inches in diameter; no stumps will be accepted.
Town names new transportation manager
WARWICK The Warwick Town Board has hired Jennifer Crover as its new manager of the towns transportation system. According to information, from Supervisor Michael Sweetons office, Crover brings many years of successful experience managing the Town of Monroe system.
Town Board meeting rescheduled
WARWICK The next meeting of the Warwick Town Board will be held Aug. 16 rather than Aug. 9, according to an e-mail from Supervisor Michael Sweetons office.
