— The Demarest Hill Winery, a Warwick vineyard and distillery, has become the 13th member of the Shawangunk Wine Trail. Demarest Hill Winery produces brandy and liquors along with red and white wines.

The winery was founded in 1998 by Francesco Ciummo, who learned the skill of winemaking on his family vineyard in Molise, Italy.

“The trail represents the best of Hudson Valley winemaking,” Ciummo said in a press release announcing his participating in the organization. “We are also looking forward to participating in this year’s Pasta Primo Vino event, a wonderful opportunity to reach more people with our fine wines.”

April 13-14
Pasta Primo Vino is an annual two-day event that takes place at each of the 13 wineries along the Shawangunk Wine Trail. Each winery will serve a unique pasta dish and offer an accompanying Hudson Valley wine tasting to ticket holders, who may visit as many wineries as they would like throughout the day. The pasta will be provided by Barilla, a European food company that celebrates the lifestyle, culture and cuisine of Italy.

Pasta Primo Vino will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on April 13 and April 14. Tickets are good for both days and are $40 per person when purchased in advance. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door for $60 per person. To register or for more information, visit shawangunkwinetrail.com or call 845-256-8456.
