Decision 2013

By Nancy Kriz
This year’s election season is shaping up to be among the most memorable in recent years.
In addition to candidates running on the Democratic, Republican, Conservative, Independent and Working Families’ party lines, other grassroots groups and individuals have created third political parties to challenge traditional party lines. They include the Had Enough, United Monroe, Green and Clear Government and Tuxedo Today parties.
Registered voters
According to Orange County Board of Elections statistics, there are 21,608 registered voters in the Town of Warwick.
Absentee ballot
Oct. 11 was the deadline to register to vote for the Nov. 5 election. But if you’re a registered voter and going to be out-of town on Election Day, there’s still time to get an absentee ballot and exercise your right to choose your elected officials.
To get an absentee ballot, call the Orange County Board of Elections at 291-1244. You can also vote in-person at the board’s office at 25 Court Lane in Goshen between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Additionally, voters can also go at these special hours: Saturday, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. to noon; Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 5 to 8 p.m.; and Saturday, Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. to noon.
