Deadline to register for driver education in spring is Dec. 18

WARWICK — During the 2014 spring semester, driver education will be offered At Warwick Valley High School by an independent driving school.

The cost to each student will be $380.

Students will be chosen by a lottery system with seniors and juniors having priority.

Sophomores will be eligible if spaces are available after all seniors and juniors have been assigned their scheduled times.

Registration forms can be obtained on-line at www.warwickvalleyschools.com, click on High School, then click on Departments, then select Driver Education; or they can be picked up from the District office.

The deadline for applications to be returned to John Russo’s office is Dec. 18.


Students participating in the program will be required to attend two sessions a week totaling three hours: 1-1/2 hours in the classroom and 1-1/2 hours in the car.

Students are advised to keep in mind all activities they may be participating in when signing up. Students that exceed two absences in driving will be charged at a rate of $50 per make up session

Students who wish to participate in the program must have their Driver’s License or Learner’s Permit as issued by the Motor Vehicle Bureau and must be 16 years of age on or before Feb. 5.
