Crowds enjoy Homecoming Day Parade on Main Street

WARWICK — It was hometown USA again.
And judging by the huge turnout of onlookers along Main Street, eagerly awaiting the Homecoming Day Parade on Saturday, Sept. 15, it was a good day for Warwick.
Homecoming 2018 included a spirit week float-building at the bus garage, an in-school pep rally, powder puff game, bonfire, parade through the Village of Warwick, Wildcats football game and Homecoming Dance.
The students also raised $752 for Backpack Snack Attack.
The weather was picture perfect for the Warwick Valley High School's 47th annual Homecoming Day and everyone had an opportunity to enjoy another great parade with floats designed by each class.
Everyone agreed that once again the students had produced very creative floats, each with a theme depicting four decades ranging from the 1960s to the 1990s.
Local and school officials served as judges and voted first place to the seniors for their 1970s float, which included a performance by students before the judges that included depicting the Watergate investigation.
The other floats included the 1980s junior float, which came in second followed by the freshmen's 1960s float and the sophomore's 1990s float.
That same afternoon, the Warwick Wildcats trounced the Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School of Hyde Park 33-7.
Homecoming Day faculty advisors this year were Jeffrey Jacobsen and April Beauregard.
Class advisors were: freshmen April Beauregard; sophomores Jim O'Brien; juniors Jeanine Fogler and seniors Lillian Bonet and Jeff Jacobsen.
