Cornell Cooperative seeks applicants for teen leadership and career development program

    MIDDLETOWN — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Orange County is accepting applications for its Teen Leadership and Career Development program that directly prepares youth ages 13-19 for work force engagement.
    Through monthly, Wednesday night meetings, teens learn interview skills, resume building, public speaking and communication skills, team building and interpersonal skills through social engagement.
    The program offers speakers from a variety of career fields who expose youth to potential career choices and informs about what education requirements exist in potential career pathways.
    The youth in the program also participate in a community service experience, a marketing experience, visit colleges and learn to prepare college applications.
    Essentials• Acceptance into the program is based on prior application and interview and requires a $15 annual 4-H youth membership.

    • Application deadline for the 2018-19 school year is Friday, Aug. 31.
