Community raises $4,000 for local first responders at #FestForUs celebration
WARWICK — Pennings Farm Cidery hosts the #FestForUs party each year to raise money for local first responders including the Warwick Town Police Department, Warwick Community Ambulance Service and Warwick Fire Department.
More than $4,000 was raised at the 2018 #FestForUs event. The third annual fund raiser was held at the end of apple picking season on Saturday, Nov. 3, at Pennings Farm Cidery in Warwick.
Community members, local business owners and community organizations convene at Pennings Farm at the annual event to celebrate their roles in contributing to the well-being and prosperity of Warwick. A special focus is placed on first responders to recognize the sacrifices these men and women make every day.
Immense gratitudeAside from catching a collective breath following the town’s busy fall season, guests in attendance help to fulfill the goal of raising money for neighborhood police officers, EMTs and firefighters.
“The day is about celebrating the harvest season and making everyone aware of what it takes to be a man or women in uniform and the responsibilities they assume for the greater good of our community,” said Jill Pennings, co-owner of Pennings Farm Cidery and Pennings Farm Market. “It’s with immense gratitude that we throw the #FestForUs party, inviting our community to come together to make monetary contributions to the first responders who are selfless in their duties to serve and protect us, and have personally touched my husband’s life, my own and our children’s.”
