College notes

Graduations Megan A. Grogan graduated cum laude from Marist College on May 19 with a bachelor of science degree in communications with a concentration in Radio/TV/Film and public relations.
Megan is a 2008 graduate of Warwick Valley High School. In addition to her studies, Megan was the vice president of her sorority and studied abroad in Florence, Italy, for a semester.
Courtney Howell of Florida graduated magna cum laude Elmira College with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She also was awarded the Dr. Kathleen Sward Nursing Excellence Prize.
The award was established and endowed by Dr. and Mrs. Edward Grandt to recognize a graduating student who has demonstrated academic and clinical excellence in nursing. Dr. Kathleen Sward was the first director of the Elmira College Nurse Education Program. Dr. Grandt, a highly respected physician and former trustee of the college, was instrumental in the development of the Elmira College Nurse Education Program.
Rachel L. Gerbehy of Warwick received a bachelor of arts degree from Western New England University in Springfield, Mass. She graduated magna cum laude, which signifies scholastic excellence and is awarded to students who have achieved a grade point average between 3.60 and 3.80.
Deans list Thomas B. Folino of Warwick has been named to the deans list for the spring 2012 semester at the University of Connecticut at Storrs.
To make the deans list, students must be taking at least 12 credits, finish the semester with a grade point average that is among the top 25 percent of students enrolled in their school or college, and have no grade below a C.
Shelby Fisher of Warwick has been named to the deans list for the spring 2012 semester at the State University of New York College at Cortland. Shelby is a graduate of Warwick Valley High School who is now studying communications at SUNY Cortland.
Paul V. Bruno of Florida has been named to the deans list for the spring 2012 semester at Alfred State College. Paul is a 2010 graduate of S.S. Seward Institute. He is studying Information technology and has completed his sophomore year.
Paul is the son of Paul J. and Darlene Bruno.
Jonathan Grant Jeffery, the son of Diane and Thomas G. Jeffery of Warwick, was named to the deans list for the spring 2012 semester at Liberty University in Virginia.
Jonathan is a junior majoring in the School of Engineering and Computational Sciences. Jonathan has earned deans list recognition every semester, with a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.94.
Brandon Cantelmo of Warwick has been named to the deans list for the spring 2012 semester at Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I.
Brandon is a junior studying accounting.
Ashley B. Smith of Warwick has been named to the deans list for the spring 2012 semester at the University of Vermont in Burlington. She is a first-year student English major in the College of Arts & Sciences.
To be named to the deans lists, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.
Kristen Ludecker of Florida has been to the deans list for the spring 2012 at SUNY Cortland. She is a communications major, with a concentration in public relations.
