College notes

Graduations William E. Hutchison received a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Yale University in New Haven, Conn. He is a 2008 graduate of Warwick Valley High School and is the son of Evan and Louise Hutchison of Warwick.
Michelle Van Tieghem graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H., on June 10, receiving a bachelor of arts degree in neuroscience. Prior to the graduation ceremony, she was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honors society.
In addition to her neuroscience studies, Michelle was a clarinetist in the Dartmouth Symphony Orchestra and spent 10 weeks in London on a foreign study program for music.
Michelle was a 2007 graduate of Warwick Valley High School. She will begin a neuroscience research position at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland in July.
Shannon Marie Kelly of Warwick graduated from Manhattanville College on May 19 with a bachelor of arts degree with a dance and theatre concentration. She has performed in many productions and recently had her directorial debut.
She has been an invited participant of the Vassar College Powerhouse Theater program.
Arielle Goyzueta graduated from Grove City College in Pennsylvania on May 19 with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. Arielle is a 2008 graduate of Goshen High School and is the daughter of Dr. Juan and Valerie Goyzueta of the Village of Florida.
J. Kevin Kelly of Warwick graduated from Mount St. Mary College on May 19 with a bachelor of arts in history and a minor in business administration. Kevin was a deans list, vice president of the Political Action Club and an Habitat for Humanity member.
He hopes to pursue the areas of business, writing and political science.
Michelle Napolitano, daughter of Susan and William Napolitano of Florida, graduated cum laude from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh on May 19 with a bachelors degree in English. She was recently inducted into the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education and is a member of the National Council of Teachers of English.
A graduate of S.S. Seward, she will be receiving her New York State Certification in elementary and special education. She is pursuing her masters degree in literacy.
Timothy L. Moran of Pine Island was awarded a doctor of physical therapy degree from the University of Scrantons College of Graduate and Continuing Education.
Emily Smith of Pine Island received a bachelor of fine arts cum laude in art and design from the School of Art and Design at Alfred University. Smith, is the daughter of Scott and Dorothy Smith and a graduate of Warwick Valley High School. Smith is one of a seven-member dance performance troupe, Seven and Four Articulations, on a seven-week performance tour around the country this summer.

Deans list Rachel L. Gerbehy of Warwick has been named to the presidents list for the spring 2012 semester at Western New England University in Springfield, Mass. Gerbehy is a graduating senior majoring in communication - mass media.
Students are named to the presidents list for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.80 or higher.
Ashley Bianca Smith, the daughter of Dwight and Melida Smith of Warwick and 2011 graduate of Warwick Valley High School, was named to the deans list for the spring 2012 semester at the University of Vermont in Burlington, placing her top 20 percent of students in her class,
A student must earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive deans list recognition.
Lindsay Theodore of Sugar Loaf, a junior at Cornell University majoring in biological sciences with a concentration in molecular and cell biology, has been named to the deans list for the spring 2012 semester with a GPA of 4.0.
Eligibility for the deans list, in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, is determined by a minimum course load for the semester of 12 letter-graded credits and achievement of a semester GPA of at least 3.50.
Alexa Joanow of Warwick has been named to the deans list for the spring 2012 semester at Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pa. Alexa is a health science (PA) major.
To qualify for the deans list, students must have full-time status and must attain a quality point average of at least 3.5 for the given semester.
Paul Bruno, a resident of Florida, was among over 500 students from Alfred State who made the spring 2012 deans list.
Students are selected for the deans list if they maintain a 3.50 grade point average (GPA) out of a possible 4.0.
Benjamin Durland of Warwick was named to the deans list for the spring 2012 semester at SUNY Geneseo, earning a GPA of 3.88. The sophomore is an English major, with a minor in music. He is a member of the colleges Chamber Singers.

Students make the deans list if they complete at least 12 semester hours and earn a minimum grade point average of 3.50 for the semester.
Honors, awards, program Hannah Emery, a member of the Class of 2014 at Skidmore College, received academic recognition at the college this spring. Emery was selected for membership in the Periclean Honors Forum, which works to strengthen intellectual life at Skidmore and especially to encourage the academic aspirations of highly motivated and talented students. Formal membership in is based on academic accomplishment.
She is the daughter of James and Colleen Emery of Warwick .
High school James V. DePierro Jr. graduated from Don Bosco Preparatory High School on June 3 and will be attending the University of Notre Dame in the fall.
While attending Don Bosco, James was a member of the National Honor Society, president of the Math Honor Society, English Honor Society and received numerous academic awards. He was a member of the Warwick Odyssey of the Mind team which had participated in the World Finals five times out of eight years. He is the son of James and Kristen DePierro of Warwick.
