College notes

Graduations
During its winter commencement on Dec. 16,, the University at Albany awarded 630 bachelor’s degrees and 440 graduate degrees. Among the recipients were:
Thomas Hansen of Warwick who graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor of arts degree in theatre.
Derek Mellina of Warwick who graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in art.
Elliot Brooks of Warwick who graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in political science.
Gregory Miniger of Warwick who graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in interdisciplinary-globalization studies.
Tatiana Kniazev of Warwick who graduated with a bachelor of science degree in accounting.
Dean’s list
Tyler R. Filipowski of Warwick was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester at the Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, Pa. He is studying to receive his bachelor of science degree in automotive technology management.
Honors, awards, programs
Becca Starer of Warwick received the University Honors Citation in a recent ceremony in the Memorial Chapel on the University of Maryland’s College Park campus. The Honors Citation signifies the successful completion of honors course work which includes honors seminars, special honors versions of introductory courses and a first-year colloquium.
The University of Maryland’s Honors College is a highly selective, nationally recognized academic program for talented undergraduates at the University of Maryland.
Becca is a 2009 Warwick Valley High School graduate. She is a senior at the University of Maryland and expects to graduate in May with bachelor of science degrees in marketing and business administration.
