Liza M. Gergenti, daughter of Vincent and Margaret Gergenti of Warwick, is serving as an emergency medical technician (EMT) at Hamilton College this year.
The Hamilton College Emergency Medical Service is a New York State certified agency that is made up of 25 student EMTs who provide 24-hour emergency service to the campus community during the academic year. Each NYS certified EMT volunteers 30-40 hours a week, during which time he or she is on call to assist anyone needing medical attention. On average, the EMTs respond to 50-60 medical emergencies on campus each semester.
Gergenti, a senior majoring in neuroscience, is a graduate of Warwick Valley High School.
Lia-Marie Rinaldi of Warwick is participating in a program that is teaching more than 3,000 kindergartners through 12th graders the lifetime sport of golf at SUNY Delhi. Rinaldi is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business and Professional Golf Management at the college.
“The program allows SUNY Delhi PGM students the opportunity to apply the swing instructional knowledge they’ve acquired in a teaching setting,” said PGM Program Director Tom Philion. “It also gives students the chance to communicate the concepts they’ve learned to new golfers.”
In addition to Delhi’s Golf in Schools program, Business and Professional Golf Management majors conduct junior golf camps at the college golf course and provide golf instruction to the public in the swing analysis lab.
Charlotte Diefenbach of the Village of Florida has been awarded a SUNY Potsdam Freshman Scholarship. She is a theater major.
