Graduations
The following area residents are among the 1,617 students who earned undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificates of advanced study as members of the Class of 2013 at The College of Saint Rose in Albany:

David Paul of Florida earned a bachelor of science degree.

Alexa Savaglio of Warwick earned a bachelor of science degree.

Kristan Rowan of Warwick earned a master of science degree.


Dean’s list
Tyler Folino of Warwick has been named to the dean’s list at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. “The hard work and talent that you invested in your work last semester yielded a term grade point average of 3.51,” wrote Thomas Hanrahan, the dean of Pratt’s School of Architecture, in his letter to Folino announcing the accomplishment.


Awards, programs, honors
SUNY Oswego has awarded a $6,000 Deans’ Award to Veronica A. Tesser of Warwick. The award recognizes past academic achievement and potential for success.

Tesser, from George F. Baker Tuxedo High School, has reserved a place in the incoming freshman class for the fall semester. She is scheduled to begin classes Aug. 26.

SUNY Oswego honored more than 600 incoming students with merit scholarships. Outstanding first-year students are offered Presidential Scholarships $18,800 ($4,700 a year for up to four years), $6,000 Deans’ Awards ($1,500 a year for up to four years) or $3,000 Merit Awards ($750 a year for up to four years).


Philip Pascarelli of Florida has received a $1,000 Merit Award as a new transfer student at SUNY Oswego. Pascarelli, from SUNY Orange, has reserved a place for the fall semester at Oswego. He is scheduled to begin classes Aug. 26.

Oswego’s merit awards recognize students’ past academic achievements and potential for success. A select group among the more than 700 transfer students received the awards. The awardees have a collective college grade-point average of 3.6 on the 4.0 scale.
