Deans list Paul Renart of Warwick was named to the presidents list in the fall 2011 semester at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla. He is in the AFROTC majoring in Unmanned Aerial Systems Sciences and pilot program. He became a Sigma Chi member in the fall of 2011 and recently was voted Quaestor (Treasurer), making him the first freshman in his chapters history of Sigma Chi to do so.
He also became a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and maintains a 4.0 average for the Spring 2012.
Joel B. Samuels of Warwick was named to the deans list for the fall 2011 semester at Virginia Tech. To qualify, students must earn a grade point average of 3.4 or better for the semester.
Samuels is a junior majoring in agribusiness in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
Honors, awards, programs Katherine Juliano of Warwick was among more than 70 University of Scranton students who participated in alternative spring break trips in March that allowed them to work with the homeless, former gang members, children with disabilities and others in need through service agencies throughout the country.
Students volunteered at Mercy Home for Boys and Girls in Chicago, Ill.; St. Michaels Association for Special Education, St. Michaels, Ariz.; Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) Northwest in Spokane, Wash.; Young People Who Care, Inc., in Frenchville, Pa.; the McKenna Center in Washington, D.C.; WorkFest in the Appalachian region of Kentucky; Homeboy Industries in Los Angeles, Calif.; Francis Corps in Syracuse; and the Providence Center in Philadelphia.
Juliano participated in the Jesuit universitys trip to Young People Who Care, Inc., in Frenchville, Pa.
Lauren Perry, a 2010 graduate of Warwick Valley High School, has qualified for membership in Phi Sigma Omicron, an honor society of Rockland Community College.
To be eligible, a student must have completed at least 28 degree credits with a minimum grade point average of 3.25.
Lauren, the daughter of Susan and Frank Perry, is currently studying math at Manhattan College.
Pace University senior attackman John Kolesar of Warwick was named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week after scoring 11 points in two games.
Kolesar had a career-best day in a win over Assumption with five goals, one man-up tally and four assists.
He finished the week as he netted a man-up goal and an assist against Saint Anselm.
Pace returns to action on Wednesday, April 4 when they will host American International College in a Northeast-10 Conference
