Graduations

Katie Rhein of Warwick has completed a Masters of Professional Studies in TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Manhattanville College in Purchase

She also has completed her first year of teaching at P.S. 443X on Sheridan Avenue in the Bronx near Yankee Stadium.

Matthew E. Culkin has received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Marywood University in Scranton, Pa.

Matt was a member of the university’s Division III lacrosse team. He also earned dean’s list honors in 2011 and was a member of the all-academic team for the CSAC in 2011.
A graduate of Warwick Valley High School, he is employed at Axis Insurance Services LLC as an associate broker.

Dean’s list

Quinn K. Desibia of Warwick was entered on the dean’s list at Syracuse University’s L.C. Smith College of Engineering with a grade point average of 4.0.

Quinn is a 2011 graduate of Warwick Valley High School.

Amber Mosher of Warwick was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester at Caldwell College.

To qualify, students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher and complete at least 12 credits during the semester.

Thomas Knuth of Warwick has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2012 at Paul Smith’s College. Knuth, who majors in forestry, earned a semester average of 3.3 or higher to receive this distinction.


The following student athletes at Binghamton University were named to the spring 2012 Athletic Director’s Honor Roll after achieving semester grade point averages (GPA) of 3.30 or higher.

Jesse Fuca of Warwick, a member of the men’s track and field team, is an English major.
Karl Schnabl, of Warwick, also a member of the men’s track and field team, is an engineering major.



Alexa Joanow of Warwick was recently named to the Northeast Conference’s Spring Athletic Academic Honor Roll.

Alexa is a three-year starter for the Saint Francis University’s women’s lacrosse team that participates in the Northeast Conference. She also was recently named to the Saint Francis University Athletic Department’s Academic Honor Roll.
To be considered for this distinction, the Division I student-athlete must maintain a G.P.A of greater than 3.5 during their athletic season and cumulatively.
Alexa is completing her master’s degree program in physician assistant health science. She is a 2009 Warwick Valley High school graduate.

Programs, awards, honors

Catrina Clarke of Warwick took part in an internship this summer through SUNY Oswego’s Experience-Based Education program.

Clarke, a junior marketing major, interned at Rapid Response Monitoring Services, Syracuse.
The Experience-Based Education program at Oswego places students in internships and career awareness opportunities that allow them to earn college credits while garnering valuable real life experience.

Mark Joanow of Warwick was recently inducted into the Pennsylvania State University chapter of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

The society is the nation’s only interdisciplinary honors organization for first- and second-year college students. Membership is based on grade point average, class standing and is by invitation.
Mark is currently completing a five-year dual degree BS/MBA program, between The Smeal College of Business and The Eberly College of Science of Penn State University. He maintains a 4.0 G.P.A. and has been named to the dean’s list every semester.
Mark is a 2011 graduate of Warwick Valley High School.
