College notes

GraduationsChristian D. Perez has graduated from SUNY Maritime with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Operations.
While at Maritime, Perez was a member of the Regiment of Cadets and spent his summers training on the TS-Empire State VI, sailing to ports in Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Denmark and Italy.
Perez earned a Coast Guard 3rd assistant engineer license, unlimited tonnage, unlimited horsepower. He was a member of the off-shore sailing team and participated in many regattas, including the Kennedy Cup at Annapolis.
Perez is a 2013 graduate of Warwick Valley High School. He is the son of Charles D. Perez and Maria E. Codd-Perez of Warwick and the brother of Xavier and Gillian Perez. The young man’s family is extremely proud of his hard work and perseverance.
He plans to pursue a career in the shipping industry.
Dean’s listDylan Guidone, son of Lou and Heather Guidone of Warwick, has been named to the Dean’s List of Utah Valley University-College of Aviation Sciences.
The Dean’s List recognizes those who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance during a term or semester. The student must earn a GPA of 3.6 or above and have completed 12 semester hours or more.
Guidone is a sophomore working toward his BS in Aviation-Commercial Pilot degree.
He received a 3.77 GPA for the fall semester.
Mollie Doran of Goshen was named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2017 semester at SUNY Cortland. The Warwick Valley High School graduate is studying psychology.
Diana Melissa Genao of Warwick was named to the Dean’s List with Honors for the fall 2017 semester at SUNY Brockport.
To qualify, a student must earned a grade point average from 3.70 to 3.99.
A 2016 graduate of the S.S. Seward Institute, Genao is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society.
Mac Farruggia of Chester was named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2017 semester at SUNY Oswego.
Farruggia is a 2015 grad of Warwick Valley High School. He is in his junior year at the SUNY Oswego College of Business with a major in marketing.
John Westphal of Warwick has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2017 semester at SUNY New Paltz.
Dean’s List designation is reserved for students who excel academically and earn at least a 3.3 grade point average in a semester with a full-time course load.
Westphal earned a 4.0 grade-point average for the fall. He is a junior majoring in music with a concentration in jazz performance and composition.
Monica Pujols of Warwick has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2017 semester at the SUNY Geneseo.
To qualify, a student must have achieved at least a 3.5 grade point average while taking a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Pujols, a senior, is majoring in neuroscience.
