Honors, awards, programs
Virginia Military Institute cadet Kenneth J. Cummings Jr. was among the approximately 1,500 who marched in this year’s presidential Inaugural Parade on Jan. 21. He is the son of Noreen G. Cummings of Warwick.

The Corps of Cadets marched through the heart of Washington D.C., from the U.S. Capitol Building to the reviewing stand at the White House. The Corps was the final group in the parade, passing the president in review at about 6:30 p.m. The cadets’ participation marked the 14th time that the VMI Corps of Cadets has marched in a presidential Inaugural Parade.


Dean’s list
Shelby Fisher of Warwick has been named to the president’s list or the fall 2012 semester at SUNY Cortland. To quality for the president’s list, a student must earn at least an A- in all courses.

A graduate of Warwick Valley High School, Shelby is majoring in communications.


Kara Bonelli of Warwick has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester at Endicott College in Beverly, Mass. The daughter of Barbara Bonelli, Kara is a senior majoring in English.

To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must obtain a minimum grade point average of 3.5, receive no grade below “C” and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits.


Megan Connolly of Warwick has been named to the dean’s list for the fall of 2012 semester at Cornell University. Students must earn at least a 3.7 GPA to qualify.


Casey M. Abribat of Warwick has been named to the dean’s for the fall 2012 semester at St. Lawrence University in Canton. To be eligible, a student must have completed at least four semester units and have an academic average of 3.6 (based on a perfect 4.0 scale) for the semester.

Casey, a member of the class of 2013, graduated from Warwick Valley High School.


Scott Glowaczewski of the Village of Florida has been named to the dean’s list at Iona College’s Hagan School of Business in New Rochelle for the fall 2012 semester with a 4.0 GPA. Scott also is a member of the Iona baseball team.


Jacquelyn Trimlett of Warwick, a junior studying at the SUNY Oneonta, has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester with a 3.8 GPA. She is currently majoring in fashion and textiles - concentrating on merchandising management.


Allissa Lynn Younan, a 2012 graduate of Warwick Valley High School, has been named to the dean’s list for the 2012 fall semester at The University of New Hampshire.

Allissa is studying occupational therapy.


Christopher S. Donato of Warwick has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester at SUNY Cortland, where he is a business economics major. A graduate of Warwick Valley High School, Christopher is working as a financial analyst at Suburban Propane.


Kristen Ludecker of the Village of Florida has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester at SUNY Cortland, where she is a communications studies major. A graduate of S.S. Seward Academy, Kristen is the daughter of James and Suzanne Ludecker.


Kerianne Westphal of Warwick, a sophomore at Manhattan College in Riverdale, has been placed on the dean’s honor list for the fall 2012 semester.

A 2011 graduate of Warwick Valley High School, Kerianne is majoring in civil and environmental engineering at Manhattan College.


Ruth Knuth of Warwick has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester at Lasell College in Boston. A member of the class of 2016, Ruth is majoring in fashion and retail merchandising.


Steven T. Curry of Warwick has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester at the College of Liberal Arts and Science a SUNY Oswego. Steven is an upper junior majoring in psychology.

To quality for the dean’s list, a student must earn a grade point average of 3.3 or better for the semester.


Connor DeHaan of Warwick has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester at SUNY Oswego. The son of Chris and Shelley DeHaan, Connor is enrolled in the graphic design program in the School of Communication, Media and the Arts. He is a 2012 graduate of Warwick Valley High School.


Cristina L. Martin, the daughter of James and Donna Martin of Warwick and a 2011 graduate of Warwick Valley High School. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher to receive dean’s list recognition.


The following students were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester at Alfred State:

Paul Bruno of Florida (network administration).

Christopher Mansfield of Warwick (architectural technology).

Students from both the Alfred campus and the School of Applied Technology campus in Wellsville are selected for the dean’s list if they maintain a 3.50 grade point average out of a possible 4.0.


The following students were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester at the State University of New York at Geneseo:

Elizabeth Hayes of Pine Island.

Benjamin Durland of Warwick.
To qualify, a student must have achieved a 3.5 grade point average while taking at least 12 credit hours.


The following students were named to the president’s list for the fall semester at SUNY Oswego. Showing academic achievement, with their major in parentheses, are:

Shane Kinley of Florida, a junior (accounting).

Jessica Licciardi of Florida, a junior (wellness management).

Christian Sobiech of Pine Island, a senior (business administration).

Students must achieve grade averages of 3.80 and above on the 4.00 scale are named to the president’s list, the top 7.0 percent of Oswego students.

Tyler Barbariantz of Florida, a senior (applied mathematical economics).

Catrina Clarke of Warwick, a junior (marketing).

Timothy Mullhaupt of Warwick, a junior (broadcasting and mass communication).

Nicholas Salamone of Warwick, a senior (business administration).

Anthony Triola of Warwick, a senior (public justice).

To be included on the deans’ list, students must have a semester grade average of 3.30 to 3.79.
