Awards, programs, honor
Liza M. Gergenti, daughter of Vincent and Margaret Gergenti of Warwick, is serving as an emergency medical technician (EMT) at Hamilton College in upstate New York this year.
The Hamilton College Emergency Medical Service (HCEMS) is a New York State certified agency that is made up of 21 student EMTs who provide 24-hour emergency service to the campus community during the academic year. Each certified EMT volunteers 20-30 hours a week, during which time he or she is on call to assist anyone needing medical attention.
On average, the EMTs respond to 115-130 medical emergencies on campus each semester.
Gergenti, a junior majoring in neuroscience, is a graduate of Warwick Valley High School.
Alison Fatzynytz of Warwick is one of 19 Susquehanna University students participating in the Sigmund Weis School of Business London Program during the fall 2012 semester.
The program provides business students with an international experience, developing and expanding their learning capabilities, and broadening their perspectives about possible careers. While abroad, students complete courses in operations management, quantitative methods for business, international business practice, and management and organizational behavior. They also tour businesses throughout Europe, from steel plants to investment banks. Courses are taught by Sigmund Weis School of Business faculty and by adjunct faculty from the London academic community.
Fatzynytz, a junior majoring in marketing at Susquehanna, is a 2010 graduate of Warwick Valley High School. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Fatzynytz.
Gregory Miller, son of Arlene and Daniel Miller of Warwick, received the South Jersey Section SIS Scholarship for his academic achievements at Rowan University.
Miller, a senior majoring in mechanical engineering, has also been recognized as a university scholar by making the dean’s list, which consists of maintaining at least a 3.45 grade point average for the past five semesters.

The University of Delaware, founded in 1743, is one of the most popular universities in the U.S. Our student body encompasses nearly 17,000 undergraduates, 3,700 graduate students and 850 students in professional and continuing studies from across the country and around the globe.
Leland Colburn from Warwick has been admitted to the master’s program in international affairs at Texas A&M University’s Bush School of Government and Public Service in College Station, Texas.
Colburn joins eighty-two other first year MPIA students at the school, which is ranked in the top 13 percent of public policy programs at public universities in the country. The entering MPIA class includes students from 45 institutions in 15 states and five countries.
