College notes

Graduations
Peter B. Sullivan of Warwick is scheduled to complete graduate studies in adolescence education with a master of science degree in education degree at SUNY Oswego, where he will be eligible to participate in the college’s commencement on May 18.
Jamie VanDuzer of Warwick will graduate with honors Summa Cum Laude (QPA 3.8-4.0) Saturday from East Stroudsburg University with a degree in early childhood/special education.
Her parents, Lloyd and Janet VanDuzer, reside in Warwick. Her brother, Doug, is currently attending ESU graduate school with a major in history.
The following students were recently awarded degrees from Binghamton University:
David T. Kelemen from Florida, N.Y., was awarded a master of science degree in mechanical engineering from the Harpur College of Arts and Sciences at Binghamton University.
Nicholas Anthony Ullman from Florida, N.Y., was awarded a bachelor of arts degree in biological sciences from the Harpur College of Arts and Sciences at Binghamton University.
Dean’s list
Ramirez of Greenwood Lake was named to the dean’s list at Berkeley College for the winter 2013 quarter. Chastity attends Berkeley College in Midtown Manhattan.
Berkeley College students who achieve a grade point average of 3.50 or better with a minimum of 12 academic credits qualify for the dean’s list.
William Mastandrea of Warwick, a senior majoring in archaeology, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2013 semester at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pa.
The dean’s list is issued at the close of each semester in recognition of superior scholarship. They complete at least 12 semester hours and earn a minimum grade point average of 3.50 for the semester.
Elyssa Creary-Scher, a member of the class of 2012 at Warwick Valley High School, completed her freshman year at the University of Arizona with a 4.0 GPA. She was on the dean’s list with distinction in both her fall and spring semesters.
Elyssa is pursuing dual degrees in criminal justice and French and is a member of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law International Fraternity.
Honors, awards, programs
Dimitri Moustakas of Florida, N.Y., who attends Dominican College in Orangeburg was inducted into Phi Alpha Theta, the national honor society in history.
Phi Alpha Theta members are undergraduate and graduate students and professors of history who have distinguished themselves in their academic work. The mission of the organization is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians.
Phi Alpha Theta seeks to bring students, teachers and writers of history together for intellectual and social exchanges, which promote and assist historical research and publication by members in a variety of ways.
