College notes
Graduations
Michelle Dugan of Florida has received her master's degree in social work from The Silver School of Social Work at New York University. She graduates with a 3.9 GPA.
Michelle plans to take her licensure exam and then continue to pursue her clinical license.
She is the daughter of Karen and Michael Dugan.
Ben Durland of Warwick graduated cum laude from SUNY Geneseo in May with a double major in English and Music/Conducting. He also sang the college's alma mater to close the graduating ceremonies.
During his time in college, the 2010 graduate of Warwick Valley High School was a member of the vocal group the Chamber Singers and the elite student run a capella vocal group, Exit 8,
In his senior year, he was president of both vocal groups. He also was student conductor in his senior year of the Spectrum Women’s Choir.
His future and passion will be to teach, but he is taking time to have a go at the music profession with his newly formed band, Our Bones, and utilizing his expertise in recording. He has also begun taking on guitar students, offering lessons in his music studio; something for which he has a great passion, having taught guitar at Village Music in Warwick while in high school.
Dean’s list
Sarah Glowaczewski of Florida was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2014 semester at SUNY Cortland, where she is studying speech pathology.
She is the daughter of Colleen and Jeff Glowaczewski.
Scott Glowaczewski of Florida was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2014 semester at Hagan School of Business at Iona College, where he is studying accounting.
He is the son of Colleen and Jeff Glowaczewski.
The following students were named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2014 semester at The College at Brockport, State University of New York:
James Colgan of Warwick.
Maxwell Cahn of Warwick.
John Seebach of Warwick.
Students who achieve a GPA of 3.40 to 3.69 are named to the dean’s list.
Cassidy Rota of Warwick was named to the dean's list for the spring 2014 semester at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island.
To qualify, full-time undergraduate students must earn a minimum grade point average of 3.6 with no grade below a “B” in that semester.
Benjamin Yates of Warwick, has been named to the dean’s list of the College of Arts and Sciences at Seton Hall University for the Spring 2014 semester.
He is the son of Stephen and Kathleen Yates

To qualify, students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher and complete at least 12 credits during the semester.
Awards, programs, honors
Katherine Kisor, an incoming first-year student from Warwick, has been admitted to the University of Vermont’s Honors College.
Kisor a global studies major, is one of 196 students joining the college’s class of 2018.
Admission to UVM’s Honors College is by invitation; the Honors College works with the Office of Admissions to review the academic records of the university’s entering class each year and invites top performers to enroll.
Invitation to the Honors College is based on high school academic performance and a commitment to creating a diverse learning community. The college selects students from a variety of academic areas, from the humanities and sciences to environmental studies and education, from nursing and social work to business, in order to enhance this intentionally diverse community of scholars.
