Honors, awards, programs
Liza Gergenti of Warwick was among the 34 Hamilton College student-athletes named to the NESCAC 2012 fall all-academic team. A member of the college’s women’s soccer team, Liza is a graduate of Warwick Valley High School. She is scheduled to graduate from Hamilton in 2014.
Alexa Joanow of Warwick was recently named to The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Roll for 2012.
Alexa is a three-year starter as a defender for The Saint Francis University’s Women’s Lacrosse team that participates in The North East Conference.
The IWLCA honored 173 student- athletes from 56 institutions for the 2012 National All- Academic squad. All student- athletes were nominated by their schools and have achieved at least junior status academically.
Alexa is currently completing her master’s degree program in physician assistant health science. She is a 2009 Warwick Valley High School graduate.
Bill Mastandrea of Warwick, a junior tenor, has been selected to perform with the Lycoming College Tour Choir.
The choir will be performing two weekend concerts in Pennsylvania, and over spring break they will perform in New Jersey before flying to Puerto Rico to complete their tour. The Tour Choir is directed by Dr. Fred Thayer, who is also the conductor for the Lycoming College Choir and Chamber Choir.
Lycoming College is located near the banks of the Susquehanna River in Williamsport, Pa.
