College notes

Graduations
Danielle Barbara Cummings (formerly Schmid) graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey with a master of science in physician assistant studies. She has a previous master of science in clinical exercise physiology from Northeastern University, as well as a bachelor of science in exercise science from the University of Scranton.
Danielle is the daughter of Charles and Valerie Schmid of Warwick. She plans to work in orthopedics and lives in Monroe with her husband, Christopher Cummings.
Siobhan Anne Brady of Warwick has graduated from Assumption College in Worchester, Mass., with a bachelor of arts degree in biology. She also was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2013 semester.
Siobhan is the daughter of Patrick J. Brady.
Siobhan O’Brien of Warwick received an associate of arts degree from Oxford College of Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., at its 168th commencement ceremony in May.
Kara Linette Bonelli graduated cum laude from Endicott College in Beverly, Mass., with bachelor of arts degree in English and creative writing.
Kara attended, in part, on a Presidential Scholarship and maintained a minimum of a 3.5 GPA and dean’s list status during her four years of study.
She is the daughter of Barbara Bonelli and the late Peter A. Bonelli of Warwick
Dean’s list
Taylyn Carter has been named to the dean’s list at the Frank G. Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University. Her major is international business. She is presently serving an apprenticeship in applied business practices with Victoria’s Secret in Boston.
Taylyn is the daughter of Shermane and Gary Carter of Warwick and is a member of the Class of 2015.
Kyle Devaney of Warwick was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2013 semester at at Hofstra University. Kyle, Class of 2014, is majoring in English.
Scott Glowaczewski of the Village of Florida was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2013 semester at the Hagan School of Business at Iona College in New Rochelle.
To qualify, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
Programs, honors, awards
David O’Neill of Warwick, a student at SUNY Geneseo, was among nearly 60 college and university students taking part in hands-on learning in SUNY Oswego’s Global Laboratory network at science labs around the world this summer.
O’Neill, a junior in physics, is conducting research at the National Central University in Taiwan. He is the son of David and Angela O’Neill of Warwick.
After earning his undergraduate degree, he plans to pursue a doctorate in computational astrophysics.
The 56 students are scattered among research institutions in Brazil, Congo, Costa Rica, France, India and Taiwan. The home campus for most of the Global Lab students is SUNY Oswego, with others from the SUNY centers at Albany, Binghamton and Buffalo, the SUNY College at Geneseo and private institutions.
Research projects for SUNY students this year include puma conservation in Brazil, bioprospecting in Costa Rica, investigating medicinal plants used to treat diabetes in Congo, studying medical decision support systems, variable stars and more.
Funding to help support the students’ research experience abroad comes from a variety of sources, including external grantors such as Banco Santander and the National Science Foundation, the student’s home campus (including private donations) and the international partner campus.
