Colleen Larsen and Amanda Tarallo seek election to Albert Wisner Public Library Board of Trustees
WARWICK — Colleen Larsen and Amanda Tarallo were appointed to two vacant seats on the Library’s Board of Trustees at the February Library Board meeting.
They are both standing for election for five-year terms at the annual Library vote on Tuesday, April 2.
Tarallo is a practicing attorney with Legal Services of the Hudson Valley and has lived in Warwick for the past three years.
She believes the library should be a community center.
"I remember my own mother taking me to the library and loving the time we spent there," Tarallo recalled. "Libraries are places of study and so much more; they are great for social activities and community programs.”
Larsen is no stranger to the library or to the board. She has been an active member of the Friends of the Library, serving as president for the past ten years.
She is a registered nurse with the Orange County Department of Health, working as a consulting epidemiologist.
With the Friends, Larsen was instrumental in the growth of the library from a small building on Colonial Avenue to its present location on McFarland Drive.
She believes that the library does an excellent job serving as the cornerstone of the community. Her goal for the future is that “the library should continue to provide this outstanding level of Library services and have the ability to adapt to changing community demographics and needs.”
EssentialsThe annual library vote is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2, at the library at One McFarland Drive in the Village of Warwick.
In addition to two trustee positions, the proposed annual operating levy for the fiscal year 2019-2020 will be on the ballot.
Details on the vote and absentee ballot applications can be found at the library and at the library’s website www.albertwisnerlibrary.org.
