Chifood Bistro celebrates grand opening in the Village of Warwick

WARWICK — It's described as a place to explore, create and serve classic street food from around the globe.
On Monday, Oct. 29, Assemblyman Karl Brabenec, Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton, Mayor Michael Newhard and members of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce joined Manager Bryan Hague and Chef Eric Hague, their friends and associates for the grand opening of Chifood Bistro.
The new fusion restaurant and food studio, Chifood Bistro, is located at 2 Oakland Ave. across from Railroad Green in the Village of Warwick.
The menu consists of traditional Asian street food such as Dim Sum dumplings, braised pork belly Bao buns and an egg crepe known as the Jian Bing.
The business also offers unique catering services and experiences, as well as food-tasting events. And indoor seating is available.
"Food and culture connects our understanding of the world we live in," said Bryan Hague. "We try our hardest to source our produce from local farms to support our agricultural economy. And we love and support our hometown and community where we grew up."
At the recent celebration of Applefest, for example, Chifood Bistro sponsored a contest fund raiser where the proceeds were donated to the Warwick Valley Humane Society for its community service initiative.
Hague explained that "Chi," pronounced "chee" as in Tai Chi, translates into vital energy that inhabits the body and mind.
This Asian philosophy, he added, has been observed and practiced for thousands of years.
