— The Get Up and Play Foundation, a non- profit charity based in Chester, is kicking off a series of fundraising events this spring, all with one goal in mind: to ensure that local children of all backgrounds and ages have the opportunity to participate in team sports and training.

Team sports have become expensive and many youths in the area are not being afforded the same opportunities to play on a team or enjoy all the benefits that participating on a team sport provides. Get Up and Play will also be reaching out to a generation of adults that can't find the time and don’t have the dollars to visit a gym or pay for expensive fitness programs.

On May 3, Get Up and Play is hosting a Casino Night at The Rock Sports Park. Guests can gamble to win prizes, including iPads, sports equipment, TVs, sports memorabilia, baseball game tickets and much more. There will be more than 20 tables including craps, blackjack, poker and roulette. The $50 ticket price includes 2,000 fun chips, your first drink and hors d'oeuvres all night.

On May 20, join the Get Up and Play Foundation for a day of golf, dinner and prizes at Otterkill Country Club in Hamptonburgh. The cost to golf is $150 and includes golf, dinner and beverages. Guests can attend the dinner for $50. Hole sponsorships are also available for $300 and include signage at your designated hole.
