On Sunday, Sept. 15, some very enthusiastic young ladies were strategically posted along the road to wave on and direct drivers to the Middle School parking lot for a $5 car wash performed by members of the Warwick Valley High School girls cross country team. The team raised approximately $550 that afternoon which will be used to offset the cost of 15 girls (and coaches) entering in and flying to the prestigious 27th annual Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota on Sept. 29. The “Griak” is one of the country’s largest college-level cross country meets and an elite racing opportunity for high school teams, which must be invited to run in this race.
