WARWICK — On Friday, June 8, local officials and members of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce joined partners Scott Elfant and Tom Torres and their families to celebrate the grand opening of their expanded dining area with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Caffé a la Mode, on the corner of Railroad and Oakland avenues, is located in the heart of the Village of Warwick.

The restaurant, which has been under its current ownership for the past nine years, is well known for its large assortment of premium gourmet and flavored coffees from around the world, by the cup or by the pound. Tea lovers are not forgotten as Caffé a la Mode also offers 18 long leaf herbal teas.

Earlier this year, the restaurant’s next door neighbor Bill Gurda closed his Television Sales and Service business. When the landlord offered the space to Elfant and Torres, they seized the opportunity to double the size of their restaurant and provide patrons a more open and inviting atmosphere to enjoy a favorite coffee or tea with their meals.

The renovated decor also includes a custom-made community table as well as additional indoor and outdoor seating.

Caffé a la Mode owners boast that they offer something for everyone.

Breakfast is served all day and ranges from the quick egg sandwich or wrap to omelets, pancakes and French toast.

The lunch menu includes a large variety of unique sandwich wraps, salads, quesadillas, and burgers. All sandwiches are served with a choice of homemade potato or macaroni salad or chips with homemade salsa. And to top it off, the restaurant offers 16 flavors of premium ice cream, all of which can be made into handmade shakes.

Caffé a la Mode also offers free entertainment every Friday night.
