Business owners help Warwick Valley Humane Society

— When local couple Jo-Ann and Chris Daly read about the Warwick Valley Humane Society’s struggle to feed the hundreds of cats and kittens they are currently housing for adoption, they wanted to do something to help. As both are local business owners, they’ve devised a way.

Jo-Ann Daly owns the Foot Spa & Tea Bar in Warwick and will provide a $5 discount on all reflexology services to those who bring in cans of cat or kitten food, or provide a monetary donation for the shelter. The typical cost for foot reflexology is $40 for a 60-minute session.

Chris Daly, owner of CJD Electric, will also give a 10 percent discount off any electrical work. CJD Electric has been a Warwick business for the past 25 years.

Both promotions will run through the end of November.

“As animal lovers, we felt compelled to do something to ease the Humane Society’s burden to feed these animals,” Jo-Ann Daly said. “We just hope that it will help.”

The Warwick Valley Humane Society is requesting canned food donations only – no dry food – or cash donations.

“We’re very appreciative of what the Daly’s are doing. It shows that community businesses and individuals can make a difference in the lives of these animals,” said Suzyn Barron, president of the Warwick Valley Humane Society.

When coupons from these promotions are presented at the Humane Society, the donor will receive $25 off an adoption fee.

“Our goal is always to place these animals in loving homes,” said Barron.
