Boy Scout Troop 45 holds charter ceremony

Aiden Anderson, who serves as the senior patrolleader for Warwick’s Boy Scout Troop 45, presented the troop’s charter to Nicholas P. Lesando Jr. of American Legion Post 214 in Warwick, The American Legion has sponsored Troop 45 for the past six years.

The charter ceremony was held March 13 at the Legion Hall on Forester Avenue, next to Veterans Memorial Park. Troop 45 scouts assist legion members in placing American flags on the gravesites of military veterans in the Warwick Cemetery each May, while Troop 38 scouts decorate veterans’ graves in St. Stephens Cemetery. Both troops play an active role in Warwick’s Memorial Day Parade and ceremonies, which will be held on Monday, May 27 this year.
